Retrofit Assessment and Guidance
Looking to improve the energy efficiency and lower CO2 emissions in your home?
A Retrofit Assessment could be just what you need and will provide you with a comprehensive plan of action.
What is a Retrofit Assessment?
In simple terms it is an assessment of the energy efficiency of your home. The eventual aim is what you would like this to be, and could lead to several improvement measures, things like:
- Improving insulation.
- Replacing a heating system.
- Improving ventilation and indoor air quality.
- Installing renewable technologies.
- Or all of these.
Retrofit Assessments follow the PAS 2035 guidance and include an Energy Report and a Condition Survey.
In addition, we also offer tailored advice.
A Retrofit Assessment can be a way of highlighting other problems like damp, mould and condensation, and of course it should show how you could lower energy bills and reduce co2 emissions.
What’s involved in a Retrofit Assessment?
We’ve undertaken Retrofit Assessments or Energy Assessments over many years and these can be tailored to what your eventual outcomes are required.
From a simple advice-based service to a full Pas 2035 Retrofit Assessment. More about PAS2035.
The PAS 2035 Retrofit Assessment includes the following:
- Energy Report – the same as an EPC.
- Condition Report – this will detail any building defects like damp/condensation issues, or other building problems that need looking into before any energy saving measures can be installed.
Optional Reports and Assessments:
- Occupancy Evaluation – a review of your previous year’s energy bills and the way you use energy in your house, so that together with the Energy Report you have a clear understanding of how energy is used, and where improvements can be made.
- Improvement Option Evaluation Report – provides a clear and concise tabulation of the capital cost, simple payback, and carbon cost effectiveness of both individual and grouped improvement measures.
- Renewables Assessment – so you know what technology would be most suitable for you.
